- First, the test solution is prepared: Pour the entire contents of the 10 ml bottle of Schülke Optics Concentrate into a full 500 ml bottle of an alcoholic hand disinfectant. After a brief shake, a corresponding training sticker is affixed to the bottle to avoid confusion with regular disinfectant.
- Then, the hands are rubbed with the test solution, as is customary in hygienic or surgical hand disinfection.
- Afterwards, the result is made visible under UV light. The luminosity of the Schülke Optics Concentrate shows how well the hygienic or surgical hand disinfection was performed under practical conditions. Areas that glow bright blue under UV light are sufficiently wetted, while wetting gaps appear as dark spots. Application errors thus become immediately visible and can be corrected by reapplication.
An ideal addition is the Schülke Optics UV LED, a lightweight and handy UV box from Schülke that makes the luminosity of the Schülke Optics Concentrate visible with LED technology.

The preparation must not be used for hygienic and surgical hand disinfection.
The concentrate is to be used diluted and according to instructions in combination with alcoholic hand disinfectants for training purposes only. To avoid confusion, the test solution should be properly labeled and not used for routine hand disinfection.
In the event of a spill of concentrate or test solution, liquid residues should be removed immediately to avoid residues of the luminous substance on sensitive surfaces. The application is for external use only and the preparation must not get into the eyes. As it is a flammable liquid, it must be kept away from sources of ignition, open flames, and children. The concentrate should be stored in the dark.
