This model of the placental circulation has a realistic colouring and shows major structures in high detail which makes it well suited as educational material for future physicians, obstetricians and midwifes as well as for the purpose of patient information e.g. in gynecology. The placenta model is made of flexible material and is shown in original life-size. The cotyledons on the maternal surface are shown, with the amnion and chorion membranes on the foetal surface. The umbilical vessels are visible through the membrane of the cord. A section into the placenta exposes the subchorial space, villi with foetal arteries and veins, decidual septa, spiral arterioles and marginal sinus. A key card for better understanding is included.
