Sekusept™ aktiv by Ecolab is a powder for mixing solutions for cleaning and disinfection of medical instruments. It contains the agent PerOxyBalance and covers the whole efficiency spectrum including virucidal according to DVV and RKI recommendations. A virucidal disinfection with a concentration of 2% takes roughly 10 minutes to complete. Sekusept™ aktiv also acts sporicidal against clostridium difficile and bacillus subtilis and removes protein crusts without acting fixing. Protein fixation is prevented by addition of a neutral peracetic acid. The disinfectant is suitable for the whole instrumentarium and is especially well suited for flexible endoscopes. When using Sekusept™ aktiv, the safety of user and patient is guaranteed. It can also be used with an ultrasonic bath.
Correct Application of Sekusept™ aktiv
A dosage spoon or cup for preparation of the solution is part of the delivery. Fill desired amount of powder into water no warmer than 25 degrees Celsius and stir a few times. The disinfection solution will be ready after a few minutes.
For manual reprocessing, put instruments into the solution right after use. All surfaces must be covered by the solution. No bubbles or cavities must persist. Clean instruments according to manufacturer instructions. After the prescribed time, remove instruments from the solution and rinse them with water (drinking qater quality). Manual reprocessing requires one instrument bath for cleaning and one for terminal disinfection.
For reprocessing in an ultrasonic bath, Sekusept™ aktiv can be used in all stainless steel ultrasonic baths. The bath is prepared with cold water. Maximum sonication time is 5 minutes. Regard manufacturer instructions.
